Vcds no response from controller

All other modules connecting fine in autoscan. More info: A3 8P, 2009, vcds 20.4.2, Was 99.9% sure warning light from door or seat wires, but could not connect vcds to the module.

Anyone know why scanning with engine RUNNING would allow connection to airbag controller that could not connect w key on, before that?
